About Me

Jegan Chen

I'm currently employed as a Usability Engineer at an Internet Marketing Agency in Downtown San Diego. My work is involved in all aspects of website usability such as heuristic analyses, persona development, information architecture, and user testing. I consult Fortune 1000 companies and help them improve the user-experience of their website as well as customer retention, conversion, and engagement. I am lucky to work with some of the brightest minds and hardest workers in the industry.

My passion for the web began in the mid-90's, when a hobby sprung from building custom profile homepages using AOL Homepage's WYSIWYG editor. Feeling limited by WYSIWYG editors, I taught myself how to hand code HTML (albeit with tables back then) and starting building out websites for friends and non-profit organizations I was involved in.

As I pursued other interests and studied Cognitive Science at the University of California, San Diego, I became interested in the the cognitive, neuroscience, and psychology behind human computer interaction. It was the combination of my interest in these fields and my experience in web development that took me on the path to where I am today.
